Call for Submissions

There are two calls for submissions:

1. Call for Doctoral Student Papers

Scope: Paper and presentations content will be within the conference scope of applied, management and socially engaged research, either advancing a theory or investigating a context-specific application. Manuscript are presented from either a single discipline or interdisciplinary base. While there is no specific set of themes that capture the conference scope, all papers and presentations must have a dedicated section that explains why the research is to be considered applied research. Papers that have no such section WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Article length and format: Please include the full title of the article, your name and affiliation, the abstract, and article body, and references. Please confine the body of your article to between 5,000 and 8,000 words, including references. All sources must be referenced in APA format, and a reference list must be included at the end of the paper. Please submit in PDF format.

Copyright and Ethics: Please ensure that you have permission to use any material with copyright that you have used in your submission. Please ensure that any research with human participants has received ethical review request approval.

Editors: All submissions will be subject to peer review by the conference editorial committee and arm’s length reviewers. The conference editorial committee comprises of Dr. Holmes, Dr. Harris, Dr. Bernard, Dr. Wafai, and Dr. Hodson. The committee will serve as corresponding editors, organizing feedback and relaying responses to the authors. Doctoral students will be invited to serve as reviewers. All submissions will be assessed based on common criteria that include the paper’s applied nature as defined by authors; its originality, significance and expected contribution to knowledge; appropriateness of the literature review; appropriateness of the theoretical approach or framework; and the readability of the paper. The editorial committee will cluster the submissions, and once clusters are identified, the editorial committee will select the submissions that best exemplify the goals of the conference in terms of applied research. Notice of acceptance of the manuscript will be issued in the week of June 21, 2021.

Conference Awards: Reviewers and the editorial committee will select multiple paper awards and will be announced at the conference. In addition, a prize of $500 will be awarded for each.
